Job Introduction

Caretaker

Grade B – £13.02 per hour – actual salary £13,581.72

Monday-Friday: 7am-9am and 3pm-5pm (20 hours per week)

Permanent – 52 weeks per year

 

Medstead Primary School is looking for a friendly, hard-working and practical caretaker to join our amazing team. This role would suit someone who enjoys being hands-on and takes pride in their work.

 

Our school is set in beautiful grounds and is a happy, welcoming place for children, staff and visitors. The caretaker plays an important role in keeping our school safe, well cared for and running effectively.

 

The successful candidate will need:

 

  • A good understanding of H&S expectations in a school setting
  • A willingness to take part and implement H&S training
  • Be able to fix things but aware of when to seek external support
  • Be confident to work with different people from contractors to staff members
  • A positive, can-do approach
  • To be able to prioritise
  • To be happy to tackle all aspects of the role - must enjoy work outside in all weathers as well as the daily cleaning and maintenance of the building
