Job Description:

Post Title: Lunchtime Supervisory Assistant

Key Areas of Responsibility:


 As a Lunchtime Supervisory Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the safety, wellbeing, and positive lunchtime experience of all children. Your responsibilities will include:


  • Assisting children at lunchtime with eating their lunch.
  • Encouraging good manners, politeness, and positive behaviour through being a good role model.
  • Ensuring that the hall and classrooms used at lunchtime are clean and hygienic before and after each session – wiping class tables with disinfectant and hoovering carpets as required.
  • Being aware of children in school with specific medical needs.
  • Taking part in half-termly meetings with the Senior Supervisor.
  • Supporting the social, emotional, and physical wellbeing of all pupils.
  • Carrying out playground duty and First Aid duty according to the agreed rota.
  • Helping children with personal cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Attending relevant training and courses as required.
  • Keeping cupboards of ‘spare’ clothes tidy, organised, and ready for use.
  • Ensuring the playground trolley is tidied and returned to the hall at the end of lunchtime.
  • Making sure the gate between playgrounds is locked at the end of lunchtime.
  • Recording observations on child behaviour and progress as directed by the class teacher and reporting relevant information daily.
  • Applying the school’s Behaviour and Anti-Bullying policies consistently.
  • Ensuring the health and safety of all children and staff at all times.
