At Prospect School, we are proud to provide a nurturing and inclusive environment for boys aged 11–16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. With all students holding Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), we are committed to ensuring they receive the support and provisions required to thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the next phase of the school’s development.
The role
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the school’s strategic leadership through the effective oversight of inclusion, including line management and staff development. Central to the role is driving improved outcomes for vulnerable learners. The role involves a small teaching commitment.
The successful candidate will provide strategic and operational leadership for:
- Whole-school inclusion and SEND practice
- Annual Reviews and EHCP processes
- SEMH provision and intervention
- Acting as a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), working closely with the Operational DSL to ensure safeguarding arrangements meet the needs of students with SEND
- Designated Teacher responsibility for looked after and previously looked after children
Alongside this, you will fulfil a small teaching commitment, modelling inclusive, adaptive and trauma-informed practice and remaining closely connected to students and staff.

You will:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Have a strong understanding of SEND and inclusive practice
- Be confident in managing statutory processes and competing priorities
- Lead staff with clarity, empathy and purpose
- Remain calm, reflective and resilient under pressure
- Believe that inclusion is a whole-school responsibility
