Job Introduction

Job description:

At Cody Oaks we are now moving into our fourth year and now have some exciting opportunities within our team to support the additional cohort joining us in September 2025.  We pride ourselves on our therapeutic approach, establishing ‘the Cody Oaks Way’ which has shown to have a significant impact upon our students so far.   We have a strong and energetic team who pull together to achieve what is best for our students. At Cody Oaks, within KS2 and 3, we have adopted a Primary model.  This allows our learners to establish positive attachment and trust, leading to positive engagement and social development.  Learners leave their classrooms for specialist sessions, such as DT, PE and Science.  Our KS4 students are accessing a diverse and exciting curriculum which provides them opportunity for post 16.

We are seeking a Cover Supervisor to work across our school supporting classes when their staff are absent and supporting with intervention at times when we are fully staffed.

 Responsibilities & professional development:

  • Supervise classes and groups of students and engage them in their work in the absence of the class staff
  • Manage the behaviour of students ensuring there is a positive learning environment for all, using the school behaviour policy
  • Collect compiled work and texts/resources at the end of the lesson and return these to the appropriate teacher, providing objective and accurate feedback regarding the lesson
  • Communicate with teachers about students’ progress in cover lessons
  • Provide cover in learning support in the absence of staff
  • Support the learning support team in the completion of administrative tasks
  • Establish productive working relationships with students, acting as a role model
  • Challenge and motivate students, promoting and reinforcing self-esteem
  • Contribute to improving outcomes for all students
  • Work collaboratively within the support staff team and across the school
  • Provide intervention when time allows
