Job Introduction

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Part-Time Teacher to join our brand new nurturing and inclusive specialist provision supporting up to 8 children, alongside two staff members, with language and communication needs.

This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a small, supportive setting where every child is valued and encouraged to thrive.

This position is temporary due to the funding being received from the Local Authority. This funding has been granted for one academic year due to the needs of the children in our provision (outlined within their EHCPs). However, this funding will be reviewed annually.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and Key Stage 1.
  • Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment tailored to individual needs.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team including speech and language therapists, support staff, and families.
  • Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting teaching strategies to meet diverse learning profiles.

Essential Criteria:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Proven experience teaching within the EYFS or Key Stage 1
  • A nurturing, patient, and flexible approach to teaching

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), particularly ASD and communication difficulties
  • Knowledge of alternative communication strategies (e.g. PECS, Makaton)

Please contact Rachel Woodhouse, School Business Manager, to make an appointment to come and see our small, inhouse provision which we are very proud of.
