Job Introduction

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will support students’ learning, help regulate their behaviour, and create a safe and conducive environment for their growth.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students can thrive.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to adapt teaching materials and methods to suit individual student requirements.
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to support their development.
  • Safeguard the well-being and safety of all students at all times.

 

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong understanding of SEMH challenges and effective strategies to support students in overcoming them.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • A compassionate and patient approach to supporting students in their educational journey.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or SEN support are desirable.
