Wellstead is a vibrant and inclusive primary school at the heart of our local community. We are committed to providing a nurturing environment where every child can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. We are a warm and friendly school where everyone works hard to ensure that the children have the best possible opportunities. We are committed to professional development and support each other to be the best that we can be.
The school is looking for a highly organised and adaptable Admin Officer to support the smooth running of the school office. This key position focuses on attendance management, including monitoring daily registers, managing lunch ordering, following up absences, maintaining accurate data, producing reports for senior leaders, and processing penalty notices. The role also involves supporting families with attendance queries and helping promote strong attendance across the school.
The Admin Officer will oversee the admissions process, guiding families through each stage, managing waiting lists, coordinating main round Year R admissions, and liaising with the Hampshire admissions team. Maintaining accurate pupil records on Arbor is a large part of the role and includes being responsible for data returns such as the census.
Beyond attendance and admissions, the role includes a wide range of administrative duties such as managing the school calendar, supporting communications, producing letters, and providing some administrative HR and finance support.
The Admin Officer will act as a lead First Aider, overseeing the Medical Tracker system, and maintaining Individual Healthcare Plans. Experience in these areas is desirable but full training can be provided.
The ideal candidate will be professional, calm, discreet, and confident with digital systems. Experience with Arbor is an advantage. The school is seeking someone who is proactive, enjoys improving systems, and embodies the school’s values—Respectful, Reflective, Aspirational, Independent, Collaborative and Adaptable. This is a varied and rewarding role for someone who takes initiative and is committed to supporting pupils, families and staff.
We warmly welcome visits to the school, please contact Abi Fernando on abi.fernando@wellsteadapps.co.uk to arrange.
Please complete the application form available on our website and return via adminoffice@wellstead.hants.sch.uk by 12pm on Monday 20th April
We encourage early applications as we reserve the right to consider applications on receipt.
Interview Date: Tuesday 28th April
