We are looking for an exceptional Deputy Head Teacher to play a key role in shaping the future of Overton CE Primary School at a very exciting and pivotal stage in our journey.

This is an exceptionally exciting time to join Overton. We have just appointed a new experienced Head Teacher who will also start in September 2026. 

This role is a fantastic opportunity to work in partnership with the new head to  influence our culture, ethos, and child experience- ensuring every child thrives in a positive, inclusive, and high-achieving environment. We need a leader who truly understands our school - someone who can inspire, motivate, and drive lasting change.

As the new Deputy Headteacher you will:

  • Have an effective leadership style that develops a positive culture amongst staff and children
  • Possess a dedication to providing children with the best education possible based on research evidence and have the vision, passion and proven track record in school improvement to ensure significant improvements in performance across the school
  • Be someone with the ability to motivate and inspire children, staff and parents with a strong sense of teamwork and can lead by example, influencing decision-making and shaping policies
  • Be aspirational, with an uncompromising commitment to improving educational outcomes for all children

 Key areas of responsibility will include:

  • Behaviour and pastoral role
  • Curriculum
  • Lead on Pupil Premium 
  • Safeguarding as Deputy DSL
  • Staff Development and CPD
